The Law of Attraction and Raising Your Vibrational Level

If like me you are a fan of the work done by Esther and Jerry Hicks you will know that the main focus of their message is always about feeling good now. When I was first introduced to the law of attraction and the Hicks’s I was not a particularly happy person and I could not get my head around feeling happy. I mean come on, how could I feel happy when I was 50lbs over weight? How could I feel happy when I had $80,000 worth of dept? How could I feel happy when I was working for the boss from hell? How could I feel happy when I was in a relationship that felt like a huge burden on my shoulders?
How, How How?
I was tossing around a lot of how’s at the time and eventually I just let go of trying to understand how to feel good in the face of so many problems. Letting go was definitely the best thing I could have done because within a short space of time I started attracting the information that I needed to learn how to be happy moment to moment despite how my outer world looked.
Over then next few years I experimented with many practices and I soon came to realize that I could not just step from despair and desperation straight into happiness, it just was not possible, but I could move gradually upwards from despair. I found that when I was feeling particularly low the best thing for me to do was recognize that I was in a funk and then actively go about distracting myself from the bad feelings. I did this by taking part in certain activities that slowly but surely made me feel better, and I also stopped doing certain things that made me feel worse.
I discovered that when I make how I feel my priority I feel much better. I have learnt that being somewhat selfish is in fact a good thing. What’s the point of living if I cannot even be bothered to make myself happy in the world? I could as well go out and throw myself under a cross town bus.
So because you, yes you reading this now, you are my favorite reader in the whole wide world I am going to share with you my tips for raising your vibration and feeling good moment to moment.
Be careful whom you speak to
Do not spend time listening to or engaging in negative conversations, they usually end up in a bad story swapping contest, with each person trying to demonstrate that their situation or experience is worse than the other persons. These conversations are very damaging and can drag your vibration level down to rock bottom.
Change your listening habits
When listening to music what do you feel, sad, happy, uplifted or melancholy? Pay attention to the music that you listen to and if you find that your feelings are negative switch the music to something that will uplift you.
Embrace nature
Get outside for a few minutes a day, find a quiet spot and just stop and listen to nature. Take some deep breaths, try to empty your mind and look around and appreciate this universe that you are connected to. You will be surprised at how emptying your mind for just a few minutes a day will help you feel more positive and give you greater clarity when you return to your daily tasks.
Treat yourself
One of my friends often comments that I treat myself really well and it is true, I do because I know that I am worth it, that I deserve it and it makes me feel good. Do something nice for yourself, it could be something simple like a long hot bubble bath with candles and a glass of wine, going out to the movies or buying a new outfit, doing something just for yourself that you enjoy will definitely make you feel good and automatically raise your level of vibration.
Spend time alone
Quiet reflection, meditation, down time, what ever you wish to call it, being in solitude can help to rejuvenate you especially if you work in a busy or noisy environment, just being alone and quiet can lift your spirit tremendously.
Follow positive people
Take note of the people you spend time with, if you find that there are a number of negative people in your life and you realize that when you are with them, your vibration often lowers, you need to remove these people from your life. It may sound harsh but surrounding yourself with negative people is one of the most damaging things you can do to yourself. Being surrounded by negativity kills your spirit and your creative abilities thus making manifestation virtually impossible. Put your self in the company of positive people and you will immediately notice a lift in your vibration.
Eat well and exercise
A few years ago this one was not my list but as I have recently lost 30lbs and I am well on my way to loosing another 25lbs, I now understand the importance of eating life force energy food and moving my body. How does this make me happy? If you have ever been 50lbs or more over weight and you lost half of that weight by changing your thinking, eating well and exercising wouldn’t you feel good?
I have not even reached my perfect weight yet but I feel fantastic. Especially when I go into a clothes store like I did a couple of days ago and find that there are loads of clothes for me to choose from and I do not need to ask for the plus size rack. I tried on five dresses in three different stores recently because I was so shocked that I am actually a size 12 now that I needed to get that little extra proof before it would really sink in.
